NTU Hall 9 Pageant
August 24, 2008
Hee, i was one of the judges that night. Honored to volunteer as one of the judges because i have never judge for any kind of competition before. So it was pretty interesting. There were many fields to fill in on 1 A4 grading sheet. Really not an easy task and in my opinion, its quite subjective also. But nevertheless, i enjoyed myself that night. Felt thrilled hearing MDSCOLLECTIONS, MDS over and over again.
We also had a special segment for the ladies who turned up for the pageant that night. The host asked for 5 prettiest ladies in the club and got them to strike poses to win shopping vouchers worth $100 from us. On top of that, my company sponsored 10 apparels for the ladies, both evening and casual segment.

The BIG BOSS of Optimal Online Marketing. He’s da man behind MDS’s google SEO campaign.

Ken(left) is also the boss of Youth Entrepreneurship Academy & Talentpreneurhub. Whoever wants to start a proper business should look up to this guy here. Oh, and hes from SMU too, same batch as me. I think we are the only two in SMU who are totally not involved in any school’s activities and CCAs.

And really, those ladies look fabulous in the outfits. Haha. I think our apparels will really make them look outstanding and not a plain jane at all. With the correct makeup, hairstyling and shoes, its perfect!

Other sponsors include MC Models, Buffalo and many more. Cant really remember the names. But anyways, i was separated from JM and the rest because we had to sit away from the sponsors corner and proceed to the judges’ corner. So i was quite left alone while the 3 guys drank and comment on the contestants happily. Poor me couldnt join in the fun at all. =(

And seriously, i dont fancy going back to DXO again. The ambiance is a vast difference from Zouk’s or MOS. Perhaps because its run by NTUC…which means government…so its not really happening. Imagine seeing Singapore flags hang in the club?! And my bad experience! I witnessed a guy in the ladies toilet peeing BUT NOT CLOSING THE FREAKING DOOR!! Damn sway. But one good thing is, drinks are damn cheap.

Luckily, Ken brought us to Marina Mandarin Hotel Lounge to chill after the pageant cos we didnt want to stay long inside. The atmosphere is so nice! Tranquil, relaxing and you can really hear yourself talk. Love it though the prices of the drinks is a little harsh on my pockets. Heh.
Tell me what to do.

Sighs.
Someone, please save my heart from sinking almost every minute.
Spare me from such agony.
Photoshoot (Part 2)
August 19, 2008
As promised, heres the rest of the photos taken during the Haji Lane photoshoot.
The collection will be officially launched on this coming Sunday at 6pm on MDS WEBSITE. Do stay tune.
Can i also mention that i TOTALLY LOVE THE PHOTOS?! Have looked through and i thought Petrina & the photographer did a fantastic job!

Thinking of poses…im seriously not good at posing compared to the supermodel next to me.

Look at her..so pretty

We were bored so JM took many casual shots of me.

Nanny walking back with her model…

A better tomorrow awaits me.

I read Darryl’s story on Autism. Its a community service project that i have to complete, all thanks to Eunice who gave me this job so i can complete 80 hours straight. Anyways, the book is really well-written and im very honored to do the visuals for them and do my part to help the autism community. If you are interested to know more about the book or how you can offer help to St Andrew’s Autism Centre, feel free to leave a comment here or email me @ georgianay.2005@business.smu.edu.sg.
His words left a deep impression on me.
Though the entire writeup was on Autism, interestingly i related most of the content to myself. Maybe, the kids are just as lonely as me.
“Abrupt separations seem like eternity.”
“But rather than wallow in life’s imponderables, Cherry and her husband remain optimistic. Because love is unconditional.”
“Having expectations can cut both ways. Expectations can motivate you towards a goal, but it can also exacerbate disappointment when u fail to meet them.”
And the sentence which really sets me thinking in my little black chair was, “Love blinds imperfections and overcome adversities.”
This is something i have failed to achieve in every relationship i had over the years. My pursue for perfection dont seem to apply to work and ambitions only, but to love as well.
At every facet of my relationship, i understood very well that i should give and take. But its easier said than done and i think its only evident in dramas and marathon couples.
He told me that he was sorry for messing up my life but thank me for completing 2 years of his life. Then i thought for a while and concluded that perhaps the problem lies with me all these while. Because of all my strict principles of lifestyle and habits and a perfect model of how my boyfriend should be like. I think i messed up my own life too.
Photoshoot(Part 1)
August 17, 2008
We did an outdoor photoshoot @ Haji Lane yesterday. It was a collaboration with this fashion photographer, Wied from Indonesia. His website portfolio was fabulous and impressive, but i forgotten the web link, shall get from him and post up here.
He contacted MDS while he was in Indo and wanted to work with us for 1 collection to add to his portfolio. We thought, why not? We can learn more about photography from this guy who has more than 10 years of experience.
I got Petrina to be the leading model for this photoshoot because i thought she can really pose well. Her photos with us has been almost perfect all these while. As for me, i kinda stop taking photos for MDS for quite awhile already because we felt that there shouldnt be someone or some face to represent the company as a whole. And im also quite reluctant to take photos because i have other more important work to do. Anyways, Petrina did a fantastic job yesterday. Kudos to her professionalism. Under the scorching sun and humid weather, she still strike 10,000 poses like its soo easy. I was her nanny for that 2 hours of photoshoot and towards the end, we had to do cover shots together for MDS wallpaper(photos in part 2 entry)
Getting started….

Interaction session

The photographer and his assistant

Ahh i love all the bangles, hairbands and handmade fabric waist belts…so girly!

First outfit

I was the nanny of the day! Hopefully i did a good job helping Petrina touch up her makeup, hold her drinks, and match her outfits. Heh, fun job!

Damn extra…

Its SOOO god-damn hot.

But she still poses so professionally.

When i saw this pose of hers, my jaw dropped. Haha. Because its soo stylo yet gorgeous!! I think she did a great job here, posing with her super high heels.

The motorcycle is not ours…haha, but she still pose with it nonetheless.

thats all for part 1. more photos in part 2.
Im dead tired being the pageant judge for NTU Hall 9 ytd night. But it was fun, will blog about it once i upload the photos.
Stila is shifting out!!!
August 12, 2008
Cant believe that stila is shifting out of SINGAPORE! What happened?!
Its one of my favorite cosmetics brand and i totally dig their packaging but it seems like singapore market isnt very receptive towards this brand. Stila has always been No.3 on my favorite cosmetics ranking.
1. Chanel/Dior
2. Paul & Joe
3. Stila
Sighs. But at least the replacing brand is Jurilque! An aussie brand which believes in natural ingredients and lots of ROSES. Yes, i love the scent of roses, ask my friends, everybody know how i cant resist any beauty product that has a rose scent! I just bought a bottle of rosewater facial mist from Jurilque today, thats how i got to know that Stila is gone…hah.
On a different note, im so happy and stress-free today. I spent the whole day with him in town, reading books on fashion @ Kino, lunching @ Spaghettis, watching love guru(which sucks totally), shopping for his porter’s bag and finally, dinner spread @ Newton!
I specially dressed up for him cos its his birthday:
My all-time fav Grilled Chicken Primavera
The freaking spicy oriental fried chicken salad
SHIOK.
Its so nice to celebrate birthdays and knowing that you dont have to bother about work for 24 hours. Because you have the absolute privilege to ignore it.

*****************************************************************************************
JM had a birthday chalet on 8th August @ Downtown East. Invited whole loads of friends, relatives, business associates cum mentor and even my friends. Haha. Cos we have a common group of friends from secondary school, thats why he decided to invite them as well.
I love the food that Uncle cooked! His BBQ chicken wings, tasted as yummy as Blk 85’s. No lie, its really delicious! Same goes for other foods like fried beehoon, vegetables, his famous fried wanton…he even brought his own bottle of oil and pot to fry the wanton over the bbq pit ON THE SPOT! Its quite hilarious, because no one fries anything on the bbq pit. Everyone loves his culinary skills, i hope my bf will inherit his talent and flair for cooking. And also singing. Haha.
Many people came. Gabriel was the earliest so he helped us quite a bit with the bbq. Followed by the rest of his chai chee friends(weisheng, weixian, ah gui, congming, kelvin), UG(Tingli, Matt, Fang, Meng, Min, Collin), relatives, wolf gang(Ken Koh & Yuyuan), and poly friends(Edric & Minz). Oh and my parents too.
CUT CAKE TIME(The words were really awful, wonder what happened to Awfully Chocolate’s standard or was it just that time…or maybe the chef wrote it when he was half-sober):
The whole time, i was entertaining my own group of friends, photo whored with them.
Here comes UG Olympics 2008:
First up…Women’s body building round(i dunno why fang decided to sneak up from behind)
Dont ask me whats this for…i randomly suggested it and everyone was spontaneous enough!
Ting, the bodybuilding champion
Geo, the discus thrower who looked like a total flop.
Meng, the Javelin expert.
And Min, who asked me to launch a CORN COLLECTION on MDS. Haha.
All of us chatted until 3AM before we ended the bbq session. While the rest went home, we still proceed back to the room and play murderer and Indian poker, some idiot game that the guys suggested! Though it was supposed to be 2 days 1 night chalet, but none of us stayed. HAHA. The room was quite “koyak” and the toilet even had ants lor. Yucks. My house was very near, so me & jm went home at 4+ to snooze because we still had to work the next day!! Shit.
The following day was National Day. Haha, dunno which UG-ian suggested to go Min’s house and watch the parade together, chit chat, sing ktv and play mahjong. So all of us gathered at her house and play all the way till 2am. Me & JM were too shag by that time, so we left early while the rest were still jumping and in high spirits.
Yummy durians for all of us! Bought by Matt & Ting because Fang was craving for durians the day before!
Ting can really multi-task, mahjong + ktv.
And i totally love to self-entertain with my new sunnies. Love the gradient!!!
Geo’s day @ work(11th August): 4 pages of emails + directing 2 photoshoots=neck ache + backache + stone mode
My favorite quick lunch: chicken rice
OFF WORK(finally): Duck rice & ah chew’s dessert @ Bugis

P.S: Regarding that incident, all i can disclosed now is i feel appalled by the ugly side of human nature and how people can disregard their wrongdoings and make it look like they are right instead. I feel absolutely amazed by the deep cognitive thoughts of human beings that can actually be so scary in reality. Right now, MDS has too many goals waiting for me & my whole team to realize. Time is pressing and we need to move forward, as fast as we could. I dont have extra time to waste on this incident to pursue any unfairness that belonged to us in the first place. And neither do i have the time to go and find out exactly how each and every livejournal or blogshop owner looks like in reality and exercise extra caution when they stepped into my office. Its ridiculous. And finally, publicity(good or bad) is the last thing on my mind when i wrote that entry. All i felt then was anger, shock and nothing else.

Seriously, where have all the justice in this world gone?
Tk Band Homecoming-26th July
August 7, 2008
Finally got a chance to go back to my secondary school and watch TK BAND perform.
They are taking part in an international outdoor band competition soon. Saw their performance, the standard was almost there, just needed a little fine-tuning. But i still think my batch was the best!!!!
Going back to TK really made me recall all the wonderful moments of hard-core band practice, marching, band camps, sectionals, shouting cheers and the underlying strong team spirit that every band member has. Looking back, i really asked myself how did i overcome all these hardships. I remembered getting sunburnt almost every month when we were practicing for our outdoor band com. I looked like a Malay because of my burnt skin. And i remembered my feet were always covered up with dirty mud all the way up to my knee and i had to spend 1 hour in the bathroom scrubbing it away. But even so, i still miss those days. If given a chance, i would really like to march on the fields again with the same batch of band mates and blowing my french horn proudly.
Im dying to get hold of a french horn until i dream of it so often at night.
