Lotsa pretty prints…they look prettier in real life!

My personal favorites are these!

I absolutely adore the cutesy apple prints on soft chiffon fabric and on the contrary, the loud geometric prints too! Easy to match and effortlessly chic!

Girls in the office love the prints so much that they reserve pieces for themselves when the stocks arrived! Damn kiasu!!

Still in a state of shock*

Overindulged?

February 12, 2009

The day we bought Nissan Latio was the day i stopped taking buses and trains.

So, that means not taking public transport for 4 months. Once in a while i will crave for public transport.

These 2 days i went to work alone without his precious company.

So i cabbed, felt nauseous and hated it.

After work today, i cabbed again to Tampines to get his present. I was carrying loads of stuff but still, i thought why not ride a bus home? Since im not in a rush and its been quite a while since i commute like anyone else.

I strolled happily to Tampines Interchange but soon after, my nose detected all the weird, overbearing odors from sweaty passerby and when i reach bus 29 queue, i regretted immediately. The queue was so damn long that i cannot see the start of the queue. I turned back and walked all the way back to the taxi stand at TM. No queue! How great.

Stupid Nissan Latio overindulged me.

Besides having the car to pamper me, my bf also pampers me like my dad. I celebrated V Day with him last Sunday @ The Scarlett(which i will blog about it soon). But he insist extending his celebration this coming Sat & Sun. Vday celebration for 3 days?! Never heard of that before?!

So cute. At moments like this, i just wish we can quarrel less often about work and personal stuffs and enjoy our private time together.

So mushy to say this but i missed him for the past 2 days. Browsed through my extensive photo album and chanced upon this really adorable photo of him!

Namie Amuro..?

February 7, 2009

We were doing a shoot with our new-found model yesterday noon.

While i was directing her poses, i realized that some of her angles resemble one of my fav female artist in Japan, Namie Amuro!! Esp. her close up & back photos!

Its at least 70% similar! Skin tone, face shape and features.

But JM said she looks more like Celeste Chong?

Ahh..dunno la! Maybe she got “ming xin lian.”

Anyways she will be modeling for us frequently, stay tune to her collection

I spent my last Sat attending World Travel & Tourism class and tending my boutique from 4pm all the way to closing time at 9pm.

Its quite fun to do it together with JM once in a while but its crazily tiring! Especially for my legs! But i enjoyed the time with him cos of his lame jokes. In return, i imitated all our models’ trademark or special poses when there were no customers in the shop! He actually said its remarkably similar! Haha…im like their nanny during photo shoots, of course i will grasp every model’s way of posing.

Anyway, i was thinking of an overall theme and message for the boutique because i got to convey it clearly to my relative who is doing up the interior design for me. This will most probably occur towards the end of Feb. Just as i was brainstorming alone, im totally captivated by Baby Tooth Jewel’s accessories! She’s our accessory vendor and i must say, her works are really one of a kind and definitely quirky! Im always in a rush when i drop by the boutique so i never really taken a good look at her designs. That day, finally i have all the time to scrutinize every unique piece and guess what, i ended up buying this really cute bone pendant necklace engraved with the word, “Love” on it! Its my favorite among all!

Besides this, she still have many fabulous designs like the Juicy Couture bag charm which can double up as a bracelet too! And those forever trendy vintage studs! I love all these classic pieces because they are really easy to match and look stylish with any outfit!

On a different note, i received a pleasant surprise from Talentpreneurhub 2 days ago regarding the book that is due to release this year about 10 young entrepreneurs in Singapore. If everything goes well, it should be released in major bookstores and all institutes by the end of this year. :)

They sent me the first draft of content! Seriously, i have been racing with time every single day in the office and that morning when i received it in my business email, i sat down and read through the entire article. I cant help but felt extremely touched with the content because it really makes any reader understand clearly the business process we have been through over the past 2 years or so and the takeaway points one can derive from MDS as a proper company established by us. I never really sat down and reflect the obstacles i have encountered together with Joe especially during startup. Hence this article certainly brought back countless memories that i feel made me grown up quite a bit.

I really hope when this book is published, everyone will grab a copy of it because it not only covers the story behind MDS, but also other young budding entrepreneurs out there. And for young teens who are eager to start a business but dunno which area to go into, its really beneficial to read through the book and have a glimpse of how it feels like running a proper business. Im sure alot of learning points in the book will enlighten many out there.

Ok, thats all for this entry! Its a fabulous Saturday tmr so means im skipping class! Yay! Heading to town for nails & shopping and going to my aunt’s house for steamboat at night! Have a blast weekend!

Lunar NIU Year!

February 1, 2009

Im sure everyone else feels the same as me. 2009’s CNY dont have much ambiance. Cant spell out exactly why..perhaps of the economic recession or maybe people around me are growing older and older and hence less CNY mood/atmosphere.

Vicky’s outfit:

But anyway, i ate a total of 3 buffets in a span of 2.5 days including reunion dinner. I can say i hate buffets now. Especially the one at Sakura Tampines, dont ask me why my dad chose the reunion dinner to be that place..it was pure frustration trying to squeeze heaps of people snatching food as if they either never eaten buffet before OR they were simply too hungry. Singaporeans are REALLY kiasu. Its not like the food were nice. Its one of the most chaotic and not delicious buffet ive been to. Given a choice i rather eat steamboat at home. Imagine 15 of us in a squeezy resturant, noisy atmosphere and separate tables. Like eating in a canteen.

On a different note, the buffet during “Chu yi” was much better. And it was so much quieter too. I think the entire restaurant only had like 3 families. So my mum blamed it on the economy..thats why nobody want to eat out. Nothing much to blog about..just the usual photo taking at the same location every year..haha.

“Bai Nian” @ Granny’s house(East Coast):

**Note the BIG difference btw the family photo taken more than 10 years ago & now!!

Anyways, my outfit is from MDS. I wore this satin mermaid tube dress which my cousins said i look like im gonna attend some prom night. Eh? I wont wear gladiator heels to prom for sure!

I was already dead tired by then. But energetic JM suggested not to go home so early so we went Siglap’s Thai Express.

2nd day is at Shang’s The Line, as usual. My dad wanna treat Marcus’s gf and his friends to buffet lunch. Photo taking again!

Brought Christine(our maid) for buffet lunch too! Really owe it to her for keeping my room so tidy!

Me & Mandy:

Marcus & Mandy:

HUGE LOBSTERS..MY FAV!!!

JM & Nic:

My parents & their friends!

2nd day’s outfit is a simple black dress from Topshop. The cutting of this dress is really good, thats why i wore on the 2nd day despite the fact that i should not put on anything black!

After the buffet, i went to JM’s auntie house at Bukit Timah. As usual, me & his mum had an uneasy time there due to the “cold” family atmosphere. All of us never enjoy going to their house..it feels like attending school where everything about you has to be prim and proper. Bah!

Off to bed now…! Gotta wake up damn early for work tmr! :)

I love FEB 14!

Its one of my marked down dates in my diary! For this year’s V Day, we are celebrating at The Scarlet Hotel for 1 night and he want the present budget to be below $100! Means i gotta hunt for a meaningful and practical gift for less than 100 bucks!  Its really something new for us because we always buy gifts for each other according to our wants…or some people call it “Wish list.” So its always quite costly.

Anyways, MDS launch first Valentine’s Day Collection! The dresses are lovely! Many designs are suitable and perfect for the romantic date on Feb 14! And btw, i love the cover too! Its nicely done though last minute by JM.

v2009

Off to Min’s house for 2nd round of GOG(God of Gambling) session! YESSSS!!! I wanna recoup all my losses on friday! And hope to post up my lunar new year celebration really soon…argh!!
