Saturday afternoon @ Haji Lane
February 6, 2009
I spent my last Sat attending World Travel & Tourism class and tending my boutique from 4pm all the way to closing time at 9pm.
Its quite fun to do it together with JM once in a while but its crazily tiring! Especially for my legs! But i enjoyed the time with him cos of his lame jokes. In return, i imitated all our models’ trademark or special poses when there were no customers in the shop! He actually said its remarkably similar! Haha…im like their nanny during photo shoots, of course i will grasp every model’s way of posing.

Anyway, i was thinking of an overall theme and message for the boutique because i got to convey it clearly to my relative who is doing up the interior design for me. This will most probably occur towards the end of Feb. Just as i was brainstorming alone, im totally captivated by Baby Tooth Jewel’s accessories! She’s our accessory vendor and i must say, her works are really one of a kind and definitely quirky! Im always in a rush when i drop by the boutique so i never really taken a good look at her designs. That day, finally i have all the time to scrutinize every unique piece and guess what, i ended up buying this really cute bone pendant necklace engraved with the word, “Love” on it! Its my favorite among all!

Besides this, she still have many fabulous designs like the Juicy Couture bag charm which can double up as a bracelet too! And those forever trendy vintage studs! I love all these classic pieces because they are really easy to match and look stylish with any outfit!

On a different note, i received a pleasant surprise from Talentpreneurhub 2 days ago regarding the book that is due to release this year about 10 young entrepreneurs in Singapore. If everything goes well, it should be released in major bookstores and all institutes by the end of this year.
They sent me the first draft of content! Seriously, i have been racing with time every single day in the office and that morning when i received it in my business email, i sat down and read through the entire article. I cant help but felt extremely touched with the content because it really makes any reader understand clearly the business process we have been through over the past 2 years or so and the takeaway points one can derive from MDS as a proper company established by us. I never really sat down and reflect the obstacles i have encountered together with Joe especially during startup. Hence this article certainly brought back countless memories that i feel made me grown up quite a bit.
I really hope when this book is published, everyone will grab a copy of it because it not only covers the story behind MDS, but also other young budding entrepreneurs out there. And for young teens who are eager to start a business but dunno which area to go into, its really beneficial to read through the book and have a glimpse of how it feels like running a proper business. Im sure alot of learning points in the book will enlighten many out there.
Ok, thats all for this entry! Its a fabulous Saturday tmr so means im skipping class! Yay! Heading to town for nails & shopping and going to my aunt’s house for steamboat at night! Have a blast weekend!

hey! do let us know when the book is published. would certainly want to get a copy of it. in fact, i do cut out articles that report on budding entrepreneurs once in awhile. Mainly cz it’s inspiring to see how young talents out there would dare take a plunge and venture into the complicating business world.
