Our relationship..from his viewpoint.

In the midst of piling work and meeting with leasing departments, we squeezed 2 hours of our time to meet our soleminzer for the first time at IMM Jurong.

She is uber cute. A 73 year old lady who is an ex-principle and currently a marriage counselor with Masters in Social Science. The way she talked to us made me feel like i am still a student, back to school days. Mrs Pang certainly has the principle vibe and aura all around her. And to further affirm she came from an educational background, she gave me & Joe a short quiz which contains 5 questions! QUIZ, YES!!! I haven’t had a quiz for years! But it was really sweet of her, cos its beyond her call of duty already.

Anyways, shortly after we met, she sent an email to Joe (Yes!! She knows how to use email, great!!) and ask him about our relationship in detail. Like how we met, our background, etc. And my bf replied her. After i read what he wrote, its pretty amazing to understand our relationship solely from his viewpoint, not mine. I was actually touched when i read his long essay. :) So, let me share his side of story.

Joe’s long essay:

Anyway, me and Geo have been together for 5 years. This coming 20th November is our 5 years anniversary. We have been running this company call Mds for more than 5 years. We deal with fashion clothing and is currently the largest fashion clothing provider online, we also 2 retail shops in orchard, our 3rd one coming up before this Christmas. Our business is doing pretty well, we recently won this award call emerging enterprise 2011 out of 1500 competitors.

Geo and myself were in the same secondary school, tanjong katong sec sch, the same polytechnic, temasek poly but we never talk to one another we just know each others existence. We started to talk when she was doing her uni and I was working with Citibank. It was right after she broke up with her ex bf. We met up soon after then with her parents. Surprisingly, her parents were very comfortable with me, and her dog didn’t bark as well!

Geo is a very smart girl, she came from SMU. She is a perfectionist and a workaholic. She feels things should be done perfect on the first attempt. She speaks her mind hence she Is the girl whom either you like her or you hate her. She loves to dress up and is obsessed with bags. Many people love her taste for fashion, that’s one reason why our company is a little better than others. Shes very hot tempered yet she’s very sentimental. She loves her family, her dog and a smelly pillow she carries with her wherever she travels. (Seriously, i think my bf can omit this totally! Damn paisei!)

For me, I am a very ambitious person who believes in continuous improvement. If there’s a wall, I’ll always be able to find a way. I also believe that everyone will be truly happy if they are able to balance love, friends, emotion, family n finance. I love cars. I love to drink although it’s a bad habit. Geo has a wonderful family, whereas for me, I would say my family gives me more freedom. We bought an apartment which will be ready in 2 years time which I am really excited. I’m currently living with Geo and her family, I really love to have my own space. In terms of work, I’m more autocratic, in terms of relationship, I’ll always give in as long she is happy.

At this point of relationship, we have more or less learnt to accommodate one another. She loves to stay home, I like to stay out; she loves romance, I am a blockhead; she is resistance to changes, I’m constantly trying new food; she is super messy, I am a neat freak; she is down to earth, I’m constantly thinking of fanciful ideas; she is scared of insect, I am good at killing them.

I guess Geo and myself are pretty compatible in a sense. Haha. Hope this help. I’ll call you soon!

Yep, thats my boyfriend. Funny in a wise way. I like. Haha.

Its Friday tmr! I still have never-ending work to finish by tomorrow before i can rest during my weekends! Hope everyone enjoy their weekends!

New interest!

That is, hairstyling!

:)

Recently, ever since we shifted office and the Jean Yip salon near our office cannot make it, i started to handle all our models’ hair for each shoot as long as im in Singapore.

Very fun indeed! I think my new found passion is hairstyling and i hope to pursue it further during free time. Same goes for makeup as well. Which is why ive decided to sign up with Cosmoprof to try out their courses and see how it goes. :p

Some of my hairstyling works these few weeks:

Angelyn has very thick hair so curls really suit her alot! I use flat iron to curl her hair inwards to achieve a natural look.

Giving her a retro/mod look. What is different here is her fringe, she never tried this kinda fringe before cos she always had bangs. :)

Our new model from Brazil. Her hair is very fine so it tends to be flat as well. Waves would give her the volume she need.

For this look, i was trying out a curling outwards look. So she look more elegant.

Our new model from Brazil too. Her hair is super long, the longest ive done. Phew!

Mandy has rebonded hair so her natural hair is v flat and straight. So i tried to volume up her hair, especially the sides by making the curls higher to frame her face.

For all the above hairstyles, i only use a flat iron to achieve the curls i wanted and with the help of hair serum. Thats all. :) Have fun trying at home.

Joe’s gift during the weekend. A pleasant surprise indeed! :)

Thanks!!

Have a great week ahead. :) Im off to Korea again tmr morning!

A Super Long Post

Yay I’m back with an incredibly long OOTD entry!:)

Before I start, i believe many of you have witnessed the queue at H & M opening! Its sooo crazy, people actually queue overnight, under the sun or heavy rain just to buy clothes. When will MDS command this kinda of impact man? I will happily grinning away. But some thoughts came across my mind while i saw the long queue yesterday and that was, dont you people scared of bumping into someone wearing the same clothes as you do? Personally, that’s one of my greatest peeves and a big NO NO. Clashing outfits with strangers and feeling so embarrassed. Especially if it’s an important occasion. H & M manufactures at least a few thousand pieces per design, and replenish the same design everyday for 2 weeks. Can you imagine how many Singaporeans buy the same piece as you do? I love H & M too, never fail to visit their stores when im in China or Korea, but somehow, when it comes to Singapore, this brand no longer excites me much. I think its women’s competitive nature. Just the thought of bumping into people with the same outfit or buying something that is so common like your Giordano doesnt attract me to their store at Orchard. Like many other H & M fans, i still prefer buying their stuffs overseas. Feels more exclusive yah?

On a different note, that is why i always controls the quantity manufactured for MDS designs. And focusing our retail expansion to a few stores concentrated in Orchard and nowhere else. I have a friend who tells me, “Seriously Geo i wont mind if MDS opens in heartland mall like Nex. Shiok max. ” She kinda make me waver for 2 seconds thinking whether i should steer our expansion plan to heartland malls cos we got so many offers for malls like Tampines, Nex, Jurong Point, Lot 1, Junction 8, etc. But no, i shall stick to our plan. Keeping it exclusive for customers. I will not say the detailed plan here, but just think of a scenario like this, we want our customers to dress up, and come to Orchard immersing in the whole shopping mood when they visit our stores, not wear tank top and shorts to buy clothes from us cos its convenient. :)

Back to what i’ve been up to these 1 month or so. I shall keep it brief otherwise it will be an never-ending post!

Before i got Joe a Rolex for his bday present, he love this brand so much that he always visit 2nd hand stores to look at watches!

Outfit from: Jacket from Korea, MDS Dress, Shoes from Korea, Celine Luggage bag, Hermes watch

Outfit to work: F21 polka dots top, topshop skirt, outer vest from Korea,  Celine bag, Topshop belt, Bimba & Lola bangle

**Hm..i kinda miss my long hair! :(

Outfit for Friday which i met Joe’s family for dinner: Top from River Island, Topshop skirt, Pedro suede heels, Topshop belt, Fendi bangle, Chanel brooch

Outfit to work again: H & M camisole, Topshop skirt, Warehouse soft blazer, MDS bangle, Chanel brooch, celine bag, Pedro heels

Took this photo when i was on a short holiday in Bali, love the place soo much im going back again! Maybe not Banyan Tree this time round cos its too pricey, somewhere else like Alila? Anyways, this was one of the nights Joe & I sat by the sea and drinking, chilling out the whole night. Ultimate shiok.

Too bored so i started playing with his cigarettes. How? I got smoker face right? :)

Outfit: Outerwear from Topshop, YSL clutch, MDS Watch, Diva earrings

Meeting with Capitaland Mall CEOs. Ultimate stressful day cos we were late for 30 mins as joe cant find the place. But luckily, it was really a fruitful meeting with Mr Lee Beng Chee and his entire team who open doors to MDS to have brand presence in all their local malls as well as tapping into overseas market like China, HK, Malaysia.

For such a corporate meeting like this, i bun up my hair for a neater look. :) And now im loving color gemstones like the one i wore above! Inspired by Fann Wong’s latest CH 8 drama, she looked so good with the ear studs i just have to get the same one! :) Anyways, its from Swarovski.

Chilling out session @ Fullerton Bay Hotel Lantern Bar on a friday night which i have already decided to be my solemnization place! Yay!

Outfit: Bebe cami, Warehouse blazer, MDS skirt, House of Harlow necklace, YSL bangle, Prada clutch

The drinks are made in a super creative manner and its nice!

Seriously why are people walking around in Fullerton Bay so nicely dressed? Its as if tey are attending some black tie event, gowns, voluminous hair and full makeup. Joe said we look like peasants when we were there.

Lunch @ Clay Abode after a meeting with Lena from Capitaland Mall.

Outfit: MDS Blazer, bebe cami, Topshop skirt, accessories same as above

Outfit to Zouk Winebar for a chilling out session: Bebe camisole, BCBG skirt, Raoul belt, Hermes watch, YSL bangle and Miu Miu suede clutch

Love this photo!!!

Off to meeting my secondary school friends!

Some camwhoring while Joe is filling up his tank!

Outfit: Top from Fcuk, earrings from Topshop.

I am loving kids more and more! Age can really change someone’s opinion. I used to hate kids, especially when they jump around and knock into me, but now, i actually feel neutral towards them. Weeks back, Joe and I went to Taka dept store and shop for my friend’s daughter and the whole time, i felt so happy shopping for a kid. I was just thinking, if its my own daughter, i will sure pamper her like hell and dress her up like super model everyday! :)

Shucks, is my mother alarm clock ringing already??

So cute!!

Yet another chilling out session @ Wala Wala HV with Angelyn, Craig and some of their friends!

We played very crazy 5 10 game and Angelyn ended up drunk!:)

A decent shot of us ;p

Cant remember when was this taken but it reminded me i only wore this shoes once and i am missing it alot! From Nicholas Kirkwood, i love his designs!!

On my way to Urban Hair to have my look changed!

Outfit: Top from Korea, Zara shorts, YSL clutch, MDS bangle

Dinner after work @ Siglap: Hermes scarf, Guess leggings, Top from Korea, Pierre Hardy shoes

Outfit to work: safari jumpsuit from MDS, vest from Topshop, MDS chain belt, Prada clutch

Weekend outfit to Orchard: MDS outerwear, Bysi cami, H & M shorts

Random shot taken in the car by Joe

Yummy food @ Thai Thai, Mandarin Gallery!

I looked this side cos the guy is freaking cutting the pig’s stomach apart and taking the chicken out. GROSS!! But incredibly yummy soup @ Joo Chiat.

KTV session @ Ksuites!

Thats all for this post! :) Enjoy your coming weekend girls!

I am determined to tone my body, yes yes yes! I shall engage my bf as my personal trainer since its FOC! Hopefully there will be results!

wish me luck, ;p

Dress to kill?

Have you read this morning’s article on China women coming to Singapore with an obvious ulterior motive – to snare Singapore men?

While i was reading it, it was quite disturbing to realize that all 5 singapore women who were interviewed conceited defeat to these China women. WHY EH??

Have more confidence in ourselves seriously! Do your part to attract your own man to you and dont blame onto these shameless women who snatch away your husbands. You are at fault too. There’s this woman who said the china girls always DRESS TO KILL, so if they are really dressing to kill, why cant you dress to kill too?? I am sure it will give your husband more delightful surprise than looking at a china woman who’s trying too hard to seduce him. And honestly, i beg to differ about china women dressing to kill. Its disgusting to step into Hermes and look at them wearing scarves while wearing berms and sports shoes with HIGH SOCKS!? My god. Not to forget those station along Joo Chiat/Duxton Road/Geylang. Gross. And so ghostly it spoils my appetite every time i see their outfits. I really dun understand why are Singapore men so attracted to something so obnoxious? Zero taste, but its their so-called sex appeal. Just look at the woman featured on the cover page today. I stared hard at her dressing and ponder to myself, why would guys want to fetch her around in their super cars wearing something so fugly? And they shower her with Bottega and Miu Miu bags, why not LV huh? Its their kind of thing isnt it? I am sure most Singapore women feel the same as me when they step into a luxury brand boutique and see those old man buying bags for China woman, we just feel like we dont wanna be in the same space as these people cos its so disgusting. And it diminish the brand’s image in our minds!

As much as we wanna boycott them, we cant since the government is so pro-foreigners. So the only thing we can do is DRESS TO KILL. Haha.
